Activating Your HSU Account

All new faculty, staff, and students must complete the Account Activation Checklist before they can access email and other computer accounts. Here’s how:

Step 1: Log into the Welcome Center

  1. Go to http://welcome.humboldt.edu/new
  2. Enter your HSU User Name.
  3. Enter the Authorization Code provided in the letter or email you received.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Review the CSU Responsible Use Policy and click Accept.
  6. Review the information about registering your cell phone number for future password reset assistance and click Next Message
  7. You'll see a message about your security questions. Click Close and move on to Step 2 below.

Step 2: Security Questions

  1. Select three questions from the options provided and enter answers to them.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. Click Next to set your password.
  4. In the Create a new password section, review the password requirements
  5. Type your password in the New Password box
  6. Type your password a second time to confirm
  7. Click Submit. You should see a message stating "You have successfully reset your password".
  8. Click Exit Kiosk.
  9. You can now access myHumboldt and other HSU services to which you are entitled.

Step 3: Set your Password

Note: your password expires at least once a year. Read more about HSU’s password requirements.

Congratulations, you have completed the Account Activation process!
