VLab: Connection Problems for Some Computers

Who is affected: 
People trying to connect to VLab with computers on which the May update for Microsoft CVE-2018-0886 has been installed. UPDATE: the VLab servers have been updated and users should no longer be experiencing the problem.
Affected in what way: 
Will not be able to connect to VLab. A message will be displayed that "An authentication error has occurred. The function request is not supported..."
Workaround: 
Connect to VLab with a computer that does not have the patch installed. UPDATE: a change can be made on users' computers to allow connections to VLab to work. Please visit https://vlab.humboldt.edu for more information on the required change. We will work on implementing a permanent fix early next week (after finals are over). This permanent fix will require at least some downtime for the HSU VLab system.
What happened: 
The Microsoft update changed a security setting.
