Technology Equipment Checkout (TEC)

Technology Equipment Checkout (TEC) provides the campus with a broad range of technology support and consultancy services, including:

Short-term loans of technology equipment

Available to staff and faculty as well as students with the appropriate permissions, a wide range of technology equipment is available for checkout for short periods of time. Equipment for classroom and other academic purposes takes priority over more general requests.

TEC also manages departmental equipment that is available for checkout; access to this equipment is subject to departmental conditions and may be restricted to use in specific courses.

Technology support for events

Equipment checked out for use in on-campus events includes set-up, configuration, and take-down of the equipment and includes on-call support. The cost of these services is billed back to the department sponsoring the event; see Rental Equipment for more on costs.

Equipment planning and purchasing consultancy

For staff and faculty planning to upgrade or expand media equipment in conference rooms and classrooms, TEC offers consulting and advisory services. Assistance can be provided with equipment specifications and installation placement.
