Mac Wireless Printing Installation for Students

To prepare for printing to campus wireless printers from your Mac laptop, follow these instructions:

Step 1: To print to a wireless printer or wireless kiosk on campus, you need to download the appropriate driver from the list below. Save the file when prompted, and make a note of where you've saved it (typically your Desktop or Downloads folder)

Step 2: Locate the file that you just downloaded. By default, it will be in your Downloads folder.

Note: Depending on your settings, the disk image may mount automatically as a new disk. If it does not, double-click the disk image you just extracted to mount it.

Step 3: The disk image will be mounted on your desktop. Double-click the disk image to access the installation files. It will mount as a new disk called Mac-Pharos-Wireless-Drivers.

Step 4: Double-click the installer file Popup.pkg to run the installer. If your security settings do not immediately allow you to do this, Control+Click the file, choose Open, and then Click Open.

Once the installer opens, follow the prompts to install the Pharos Popup Client and required support files.

The printers you've installed should now be available to you. To print to any of them, follow these printing instructions.

Note: If you decide at any time that you no longer need to be able to print wirelessly, you can uninstall the popup by navigating to Library > Application Support > Pharos > Utilities and running the Uninstaller there. Once that's done, you can delete any installed Pharos printers from the Printers & Scanners section of System Preferences, since they will no longer work.
