Gmail Having Issues with Large Attachments

Issue start:
Wednesday, November 1, 2017 (All day)
Estimated resolution time:
Thursday, December 7, 2017 - 10:00am
Who is affected:
Anyone trying to send emails with larger attachments.
Affected in what way:
Sending emails with large attachments may fail to send. UPDATE 3: Issue is now resolved.
First upload the attachment(s) to Google Drive and then attach the files directly from Drive.
What happened:
Google has been showing an inconsistency in attachment sizes during the sending of an email. This seems to be resulting in some emails exceeding the maximum allowed send size for Google causing the message not to send. Google has been informed of the issue and it is being investigated. UPDATE 1: The issue is still being investigated and the root cause has not been determined yet. UPDATE 2: The core issue has not yet been determined but progress is being made by the Google engineering team. UPDATE 3: The issue has been found and resolved. Testing has shown that emails at the max of allowed size are being sent within expected time frames of less than a minute.
