Download free Microsoft licensed software packages including Windows 11 Education from Microsoft Azure for Education - students, staff, and faculty

1. To install and use Microsoft licensed software for home and personal use, open your browser to the Microsoft Azure for Education site.

Open your browser and go to the Microsoft Azure for Education site.

2. Click Sign In.
3. Enter your campus email address and then click Next.
a. Enter your campus email address. (e.g. abc123@humboldt.edu)
b. Then click Next.
4. Enter your campus password. Then click Sign In.

a. Enter your campus password. This is the same password that you use to log on to MyHumboldt.
b. Then click Sign In.

5. You'll be prompted to authenticate with Duo.

For help with Duo, please contact the Help desk at help@humboldt.edu or (707)826-4357 (HELP).

Remember you can use Other options to choose another way to authenticate with Duo.

6. Enter your first and last name as they appear in university records. Then enter "Humboldt State University" as the School Name. Next, enter your date of birth.

a. Enter your first name as it appears in university records.
b. Enter your last name as it appears in univsrsity records.
c. Type "Humboldt State University" in the School name field and then select it from the search results.
d. Enter your date of birth.

7. Click the solid blue Next button to solve a puzzle and verify you are not a robot.
8. Once the verification is complete, click the solid blue Next button.
9. Place a checkmark to next to I agree to the subscription agreement and the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching agreement. Then click Verify academic status and accept terms.
a. Place a checkmark next to I agree to the subscription agreement, Azure Dev Tools for Teaching agreement.
b. Click Verify academic status and accept terms.
10. On the left menu, select Learning resources and then select Software.
a. Select Learning resources from the menu on the left.
b. Then select Software.
11. Find the software package in the listing or search for it using the search field. Then select the software package from the list to download.
a. Once selected, click View Key, if applicable for the package, to look up the product key for the software package.
b. Copy and save the Product key for your records.
c. Then click Download.
12. The installation file will download. Depending on your network speed, it may take a while to download.
13. Once the download is complete, click on the download file, follow the prompts to install the software, and enter the key when prompted, if applicable.
14. For Windows 11 Education OS, find or search for Windows 11.

For Windows 11 Education, it's not recommended that you download Windows 11 Education N.

a. Enter Windows 11 in the search field.
b. Then click on Windows 11 Education, Version 23H2.
c. Click View Key to look up the product key for Windows 11.
d. Copy and save the Product key for your records.
e. Then click Download.
f. For more information about how to install Windows 11 Education and use the Windows 11 key you copied, please visit Microsoft's Windows 11 installation site.
g. The Help Desk can offer some limited guidance and assistance with installing Windows 11 on a personally owned device at help@humboldt.edu or (707) 826-4357 (HELP).  They are also located on the first floor of the library for walk-in assistance.
