Accessibility Resource Center (ARC)
The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) team helps faculty and staff ensure that digital documents are compliant with the requirements of the Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI).
ARC Services:
- Hardcopy scanning and conversion to digital format
- ATI processing of digital documents such as PDFs
- Assistance with closed captioning projects
Note that ARC Services are for faculty and staff use only; students should contact the Student Disability Resource Center to discuss necessary accommodations.
Accessing and using ARC services
To submit a request to have instructional materials processed, faculty and staff should email arc@humboldt.edu or call x4200.
If your materials are already in your Canvas course, please submit an Accessible Materials Request so we can process your documents and return them to your course without any additional handling.
Processing time depends on a number of factors including the length of the document, scan quality, types of tables, number of illustrations, and content in languages other than English. Materials can be moved up in the queue if you have a student with a disability. To ensure that your document is processed in time for your students, please submit it as soon as possible (30 days or more preferred to ensure we can get the materials back in time for the start of a term).
