Accessibility Resource Center (ARC)
The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) team helps faculty and staff ensure that digital documents are compliant with the requirements of the Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI).
ARC Services:
- Hardcopy scanning and conversion to digital format
- ATI processing of digital documents such as PDFs
- Assistance with closed captioning projects
Note that ARC Services are for faculty and staff use only; students should contact the Student Disability Resource Center to discuss necessary accommodations.
Accessing and using ARC services
To submit a request to have instructional materials processed, faculty and staff should email tecmail@humboldt.edu or call x4200 and ask for Reina or Laurie.
If your materials are already in your Canvas course, add the ARC staff to your course as Media/ATI Specialist, so they can process your documents and return them to your course without any additional handling
Processing time depends on a number of factors including length of document, scan quality, types of tables, number of illustrations, and content in languages other than English. Materials can be moved up in the queue if you have a disabled student in your course. To ensure that your document is processed in time for your students, please submit it at least 30 days in advance.
