eduroam (educational roaming) is a secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to access the internet across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop or other mobile device.


All devices need to be running a currently supported operating system, and laptops must have anti-virus with up-to-date definitions installed to connect to eduroam. 

Getting connected

  1. Select the eduroam SSID from the list of wireless network options displayed on your device.
  2. Identify yourself using the format <username>@humboldt.edu; eduroam will not be able to identify you from other formats you might use for your email address, such as <firstname.lastname>. 

If you need additional help connecting, you might want to try running the installer for your device.

A note for Android users:

After selecting eduroam:

  1. In the pull-down menu for EAP Method, select PEAP.
  2. In the pull-down menu for Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPV2.
